The 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2025 - 2030, will take place for 1.5 days (November 29, 2025 and morning of November 30, 2025) at the Binh Duong Exhibition Convention Center, Binh Duong ward.
Attending the congress were Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. Also attending were Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and nearly 500 delegates.
This is an important political event taking place in the context that Ho Chi Minh City has just successfully organized the City Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term and is determined to effectively operate the two-level administrative unit model, along with the new model of the Fatherland Front.
The theme of the Congress is: "Promoting the strength of great national unity, joining hands, and unanimously building Ho Chi Minh City to develop sustainably in the new era, for the happiness of the people".
The Congress is tasked with comprehensively assessing the work in the 2024 - 2029 term and is determined to successfully implement the goals and action programs for the 2025 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2045.
In particular, focusing on building a new Action Program to strengthen the great national unity bloc, enhance social consensus, and promote the role of member organizations in building a strong, clean and clean government.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front of the City has proposed 6 key action programs for the 2025 - 2030 term, including: Strengthening propaganda work, gathering people of all classes, enhancing social consensus; representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people; improving the quality of supervision and social criticism; encouraging people of all classes to compete in studying, working, creativity, and participating in sustainable city socio-economic development;
Promote the people's mastery and self-management spirit, build a united, prosperous and happy residential area; effectively implement people's foreign affairs activities and work of overseas Vietnamese; build a streamlined Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations to operate effectively, efficiently and efficiently; promote digital transformation.
In the coming term, the City Fatherland Front sets out notable targets: Mobilizing support for the "For the Poor" Fund to strive to reach at least 650 billion VND. Mobilize support for the Fund "For the Sea and Islands of the Homeland - For the Front of the Fatherland" to strive to reach at least 200 billion VND.
Strive to achieve 95% or more of supervision and social criticism recommendations received, responded to and resolved by relevant agencies. Strive for 100% of the commune-level Fatherland Front to build a team of digital education students.
It is known that before the Congress, a series of activities "Rice Festival - Ethnic Reunited Union" took place with a total cost of more than 84 billion VND. Implemented 1,974 projects in response to the "City of Colors and Flowers" movement and launched 1,680 Residential Areas "Solidarity - Compassion - Self-management". The City Fatherland Front also supported social security activities in 168 communes, wards and special zones with a budget of nearly 33 billion VND. On November 28, 2025, delegates attended the incense offering and flower offering ceremony at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument, the Martyrs' Cemetery and opened the photo exhibition "Vietnam Fatherland Front - The Power of National Great Unity". Delegates planted trees to implement the "Great National Unity Garden" in Binh Duong ward.
