On May 27, news from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Cam Linh ward said that it had coordinated with socio-political organizations in the area to organize a conference to propagate the sea and islands and combat illegal fishing (IUU) in 2026.
The conference was attended by leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Linh ward, representatives of local socio-political organizations, and a large number of officials, union members, association members and people in the area.
At the conference, delegates listened to representatives of Fisheries Resources Surveillance Team No. 4 provide information on Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty, the situation in the East Sea and legal regulations related to seafood exploitation activities.
The content of propaganda focuses on preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, in order to raise awareness and law compliance of fishermen in the process of fishing.
According to the Organizing Committee, propaganda activities contribute to promoting the role of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in mobilizing people to participate in protecting aquatic resources, maintaining security and sovereignty over seas and islands.
This is also a practical activity to strengthen coordination between the government, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in orienting sustainable fisheries development in the locality.
