The strongest wind near the storm center is level 10 (89 - 102 km/h), gusting to level 13. The storm is moving northwest at a speed of about 10 km/h.
According to Mr. Mai Van Khiem - Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 24 hours, the storm is forecast to move north-northeast and then turn north-northeast at a speed of about 10 km/h. At 4:00 a.m. on June 14, the center of the storm was at about 20.2 degrees north latitude; 109.1 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of the northern Gulf of Tonkin. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 9 - 10, gusting to level 13.

The storm danger zone in the next 24 hours will be from north of latitude 16 degrees north; east of longitude 106.5 degrees east to 111 degrees east. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 in the northwest of the northern East Sea, the offshore waters from Quang Tri to Quang Nam, the waters of the Gulf of Tonkin.
"It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the storm will continue to move north-northeast at a speed of about 15 km/h and gradually weaken into a tropical depression" - Mr. Khiem said at the time the storm weakened.

At 4:00 a.m. on June 15, the center of the tropical depression was at about 23 degrees north latitude; 111.3 degrees east longitude, in the southwest area of Guangdong province (China).
The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 7, gusting to level 9. The dangerous area at sea is from the north of the latitude of 18.5 degrees north; east of the longitude of 106.5 degrees east to 113 degrees east. The natural disaster risk level is level 3, including the northwest of the northern East Sea and the northern sea area of the Gulf of Tonkin.
It is forecasted that in the next 72 hours, the tropical depression will move northeast at a speed of 20 - 25 km/h and gradually weaken into a low pressure area in the southern mainland of China. At 4:00 a.m. on June 16, the low pressure area was at about 26.3 degrees north latitude; 115.3 degrees east longitude, with wind intensity below level 6.
The Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also continues to warn about the impacts of the storm. At sea, the northwest of the northern East Sea and the offshore waters from Quang Tri to Quang Nam will have strong winds of level 6 - 8, near the storm's eye will have winds of level 9 - 10, gusts of level3; waves 3 - 5 m high, near the storm's eye will have waves of 4 - 6 m; the sea will be very rough.
The Gulf of Tonkin has strong winds of level 6 - 7, the area near the storm center has level 8 - 10, gusts of level; waves 2 - 4 m high, especially in the east 3 - 5 m; very rough seas. Ship operating in the above sea areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
In coastal waters, due to the impact of high tides and storm surges, provinces from Hai Phong to Nghe An are likely to experience high sea levels ( Hon Dau: 3.9 m; Hon Ngu: 2.8 m), causing local flooding in some low-lying areas and river mouths from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on June 13 and 14.
"Due to the impact of the storm, in the early morning and on June 13, the area from Quang Binh to Hue will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 50 - 130 mm, some places over 250 mm. The southern Nghe An and Ha Tinh areas, from Da Nang to Quang Nam and Kon Tum, will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 20 - 50 mm, some places over 120 mm" - Mr. Khiem added.
