According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this afternoon (November 12), storm No. 14 has moved out of the East Sea. At 4:00 p.m. on November 12, the center of the storm was at about 22 degrees north latitude; 120.3 degrees east longitude, in the coastal area southwest of Taiwan (China). The strongest wind near the storm center is level 8 (62 - 74km/h), gusting to level 10. The storm is moving northeast at a speed of 10 - 15km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will continue to move northeast at a speed of 20 - 25km/h and gradually weaken into a tropical depression and then a low pressure area. Thus, storm No. 14 is no longer likely to return to the East Sea.
The weather continues to be affected by the circulation of storm No. 14 and the northeast monsoon.
On the night of November 12 and November 13, the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea will have strong winds of level 6 - 7, the area near the storm's eye will have winds of level 8, gusts of level 10, rough seas; from early tomorrow morning the wind will gradually decrease. Waves are 3 - 5m high, near the storm's eye 5 - 7m.
The Gulf of Tonkin and the sea area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, rough seas; waves 1.5 - 3m high.
The sea area from Gia Lai to Lam Dong has northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas; waves of 2 - 4m high. In addition, on the night of November 12, the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
On the night of November 13 and November 14, the sea area north of the North East Sea will have strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8 - 9; waves 2 - 4m high, rough seas.
The sea area from Quang Ngai to Ca Mau has strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8; waves 2 - 4m high, rough seas.
The meteorological agency warns of the risk of natural disasters at sea at level 2; in the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea, it is level 3. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and large waves.
