Regarding the commercial sand price for the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Component 4 Project through Soc Trang province (referred to as the Project), the province has listed the provisional sand price at the mines at the same price of 81,950 VND/m3 (including VAT).
However, according to Project Management Board 2 - the project investor, some mine owners have not strictly implemented the price listing. Currently, there are 2 sand mines that still do not agree to adjust the price (still signed contracts at the price of 136,876 VND/m3, including VAT).
On January 6, at a working session on the implementation status and source of filling materials for the Project, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province Tran Van Lau requested that the investor, construction contractor, and sand mine owner must agree to implement the listed sand price of 81,950 VND/m3 - not calculating the price according to suction or scraping technology.
"This is a provisional price for key projects under a special mechanism, following the approved policy. The price cannot be adjusted higher," the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province emphasized.
The leaders of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee requested that investors urgently develop a specific sand price list. If necessary, clearly distinguish between two different types of prices (suction and scraping technology). At the same time, widely publicize sand prices so that contractors and sand mine owners can confidently implement.
In Soc Trang province, there are currently 4 river sand mines (MS01, MS03, MS04, MS12) being exploited to serve the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Component 4 Project, the section passing through Soc Trang province. However, in the past, each sand mine has announced different prices, causing difficulties in management and operation. The construction unit only focused on buying sand from the mine with the lowest announced price because of concerns that buying from the mine with a higher price is not enough to pay the investor.
