On December 6, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Khanh Hoa said that up to now, communes and wards in the province have basically completed the collection of waste after flooding.
Some localities such as Tay Nha Trang ward, Nam Nha Trang ward, Dien Khanh commune and Dien Dien commune still have a large amount of waste remaining, continuing to be increased in collection.
According to records, most of the waste is household items damaged after being submerged in floodwaters such as cabinets, desks, chairs, mattresses, household appliances, etc.
The amount of waste generated each day is estimated at 1,600 - 1,800 tons, 2-3 times higher than during peak Tet holidays.
To collect garbage, hundreds of workers from environmental companies and local authorities have taken action to clean up the garbage.

Regarding the situation of waste remaining after floods, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong requested the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee to closely coordinate with relevant units, mobilize maximum human resources and means; deploy synchronous collection, work all night to speed up progress.
Public service units are directed to increase the frequency of collection, expand the scope on main roads, densely populated residential areas, markets, schools, and hospitals.
The armed forces, local authorities and mass organizations are mobilized to participate in general environmental sanitation, collect garbage in rivers, lakes, ponds, lagoons, canals, and beaches; at the same time, unblock the drainage system to avoid stagnation and pollution of water resources after floods.
The Chairman of Khanh Hoa also directed the Department of Health to continue to guide and supervise the work of disinfection and disinfection at polluted areas to prevent epidemics, especially digestive and dermatological diseases.
The Department of Finance is assigned to guide units in using the budget for urgent tasks, ensuring environmental sanitation and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
