On February 27, Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan - Deputy Head of Ham Thuan Bac Forest Protection Department, said that the unit had just received a small culi individual on the list of endangered, precious and rare forest animals and had re-released it back to its natural environment.

This individual was handed over by Mr. Tran Van Anh (head of residential group 1, Phan Thiet ward) and Mr. Phan Thuan Thai (resident in Phan Thiet ward).
Previously, on the night of February 26, while patrolling to ensure security and order in the Phan Thiet Fishing Port project area, the two men heard a fierce dog barking and discovered an animal surrounded by a pack of dogs in the bushes. Both chased away the dog and rescued the animal.

Through research, they determined that this is a small culi (scientific name: Nycticebus pygmaeus), belonging to Group IB - a group of endangered, rare forest animals prioritized for protection according to legal regulations.
Immediately after that, the culi individual was handed over to the Ham Thuan Bac Forest Protection Department. After health checks, the forest protection force proceeded to release this individual back into the natural environment.
