On the afternoon of November 12, speaking with reporters, Mr. Pham Thanh Bac - Chairman of Tuy Phong Commune People's Committee, Lam Dong Province said that Trang Trai Viet Trading Company Limited has not yet pumped and drained the water of all ponds and reservoirs in the project as requested by the Commune People's Committee.
Previously, on November 6, Tuy Phong Commune People's Committee issued an urgent dispatch requesting Trang Trai Viet Trading Company Limited to drain all reservoirs and demolish dams to prevent water in the project area. The time to complete the above content is before November 7.
This requirement was made after the water reservoir burst on Tan Lai mountain (Tuy Phong commune) of the Viet Phong Phu Farm project on the evening of November 1, causing serious consequences.
However, Trang Trai Viet Trading Company Limited has not yet complied with the above request of the Commune People's Committee.
Regarding solutions when businesses have not yet complied with local requirements, Mr. Pham Thanh Bac - Chairman of Tuy Phong Commune People's Committee said that the locality will continue to have documents urging and reporting to superiors.
As reported by Lao Dong, the water reservoir at the project of Trang Trang Viet Phu Trading Company Limited broke on the evening of November 1, causing water to pour into residential areas and agricultural production areas of the people.
As a result, the 13-year-old girl died. According to the initial inventory, 374 households with more than 125 hectares of land for production, crops, and livestock were affected.
Of the 6 existing reservoirs in the project, the reservoir where the break occurred was the largest, about 20 hectares, belonging to a medium-sized reservoir.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the reservoir of Trang Trai Viet Trading Company Limited is not included in the construction permit, has not had an environmental impact assessment report and has not been technically assessed.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Lam Dong Province Police is investigating the case comprehensively.
