According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the tropical depression (weakened from storm No. 15) is currently active in the northwest sea area of the central East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 (39-49km/h), gusting to level 8. The tropical depression moved slowly in the south-southwest direction, at a speed of about 5km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move south-southwest, at a speed of 5-10km/h and weaken into a low pressure area over the sea of Dak Lak - Khanh Hoa province.
In addition to the tropical depression, which has since weakened into a low pressure area, there is also a cold front that is about to affect the sea weather.
At Ly Son station, there are strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7.
On the night of December 2 and December 3, the northwest area between the East Sea and the sea off the Gia Lai - Dak Lak will have strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8, rough seas; wave height 2-4m.
In the early morning of December 3, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the wind gradually increased to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8, rough seas, waves 2 - 4m high. In the northern East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone), the wind will gradually increase to level 6 - 7, gusting to level 8 - 9, rough seas, waves 3-5m high.
From the afternoon of December 3, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Hue and the northern sea area of the central East Sea will gradually increase to level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, rough seas, waves 3 - 5m high.
In addition, on the night of December 2 and December 3, the sea area west of the central East Sea, the sea area southwest of the northern East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone), the sea area from South Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6 - 7.
On the night of December 3 and December 4, the North East Sea will have strong northeast winds of level 6 - 7, gusting to level 8 - 9, waves 3 - 6m high, and rough seas. The sea area from South Quang Tri to Da Nang and the northern sea area of the central East Sea will have northeast winds gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, waves 3 - 5m high, rough seas. The Gulf of Tonkin has strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, waves 1.5 - 3m high, rough seas.
The meteorological agency warns that the risk level of natural disasters at sea is level 2; in particular, the northwest sea area between the East Sea and the sea off the coast of Gia Lai - Dak Lak province is level 3.
All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and large waves. Coastal areas from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa should be on guard against high tides combined with large waves causing overflows of dykes, coastal roads and coastal erosion.
