The meteorological agency continues to warn of heavy rain in the area from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa in the next 2 days, with some places over 250mm.

According to data from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and this morning (December 14), the area from Quang Binh to Ninh Thuan had moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain; the Central Highlands and the South had showers and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain.

Rainfall from 7pm on December 13 to 8am on December 14 was over 100mm in some places such as: Ba Na (Da Nang) 380.2mm, Bach Ma (Thua Thien Hue) 135mm, Kham Duc (Quang Nam) 113.8mm, Son Long (Quang Ngai) 128mm, Ea M'Doal (Dak Lak) 134mm,...

The area from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa from December 14 to the night of December 15 is forecast to have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall from 50 - 120mm, locally over 250mm. Warning of the risk of local heavy rain (rainfall greater than 100mm/6 hours).

In Quang Binh, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Central Highlands and Southern regions, on the day and night of December 14, there are forecasts of showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 10 - 30mm, locally over 60mm.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. The warning level for natural disaster risks due to heavy rain is level 1. Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

The meteorological agency said that from December 16, heavy rain in the Central region will decrease.
