Forecast for the next 24 to 48 hours
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the next 24 to 48 hours, all three regions will have localized heavy rain.
The Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; on the night of October 16, the Northwest region, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Bac Can, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen provinces of the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain. In the evening and night of October 17, the Northwest region is forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
The North Central and Central Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. The rain will be concentrated in the afternoon and at night. On the night of October 16, there will be localized heavy rain in the above areas.
The South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. Rain is concentrated in the afternoon and evening.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has made comments on notable weather trends in some areas from the night of October 18 to October 26.
Northern region from October 19 - 20 has scattered showers and thunderstorms.
The North Central region from October 19 to 23 will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.
The Central Central region has scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places; from about October 20 to 25, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.
In the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions from October 19 to October 26, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with some places having heavy rain. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
