It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move west-southwest, at a speed of 15 - 20km/h. At 1:00 p.m. on December 8, the center of the tropical depression was at about 11.6 degrees north latitude; 119.8 degrees east longitude, in the area north of Palawan Island (Philippines). Intensity level 6, gust level 8. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the southeastern sea area of the central East Sea.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move west-southwest, at a speed of about 20km/h. At 1:00 p.m. on December 9, the center of the tropical depression was at about 10.8 degrees north latitude; 115.4 degrees east longitude, in the northern sea of Truong Sa special zone, about 140km east-southeast of Song Tu Tay island. Intensity level 6, gust level 8.
The dangerous area in the next 48 hours is identified as an area from 10 to 12.5 degrees north latitude, east of 115.5 degrees east longitude. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the southern sea area of the central East Sea, including the northern sea area of the Truong Sa special zone.
From the next 48 to 72 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move west-southwest, traveling 20 - 25km per hour, gradually weakening. Thus, there is no possibility that the East Sea will welcome storm No. 16 next week.
At sea, from the morning of December 8, the sea area southeast of the central East Sea, including the sea area northeast of Truong Sa province, will have winds gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 8; waves 2 - 4m high, rough seas. Ship operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds, and large waves.
