The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has just issued a document to coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Lam Dong on proactively responding to the low pressure area at sea.
According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 AM on June 9, 2026, the low pressure area is located at about 21.5-22.5 degrees north latitude; 114.5-115.5 degrees east longitude.
Forecast for the day and night of June 9, in the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, there will be strong Northeast winds at level 5-6, gusts at level 7-8; the North and central areas of the East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone) will have strong Southwest winds at level 6, gusts at level 7-8.
To proactively respond to the low pressure area at sea, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense proposes that the People's Committees of provinces and cities:
Closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of the low pressure area at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and ships operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety for people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.
Be ready with forces and vehicles for rescue and relief when requested.
Be on duty seriously, regularly report to the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
Documents were sent to 15 provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong.
