The North has experienced a series of long sunny days, with rain only appearing locally in the midlands and northern mountainous areas. Although it is the end of October, the temperature in the North is still high, the weather is hot.
According to Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of Division Weather Forecast, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, observation data shows that around the afternoon of October 19, there will be a cold air mass strengthening.
The nature of this cold front is to deflect to the east, so it will not have a big impact on the weather on land. However, the northeast monsoon will cause strong winds over the seas in the northern part of the North East Sea. The wind can strengthen to level 6, gusting to level 7 to level 8.
"The cold air shifting eastwards increases the process of bringing moisture from the sea to the mainland. Therefore, on October 19, the Northeastern provinces are likely to be cloudy again, with showers and thunderstorms at times and no rain at times. However, the cold air is weak, so it only causes rain, the temperature does not decrease" - Mr. Vu Anh Tuan commented.
According to the representative of the meteorological agency, around October 22-23, another cold air mass will be added to the northern provinces. The intensity of this cold air mass is stronger and will directly affect the weather in the northern provinces.
"The northern provinces will have rain and temperatures will drop. It will get cold at night and in the morning, and there may be cold weather in mountainous areas. Strong winds in the Gulf of Tonkin may increase to level 6, gusting to level 7 - level 8" - Mr. Vu Anh Tuan commented on the impact of the strengthening cold air.
In the Central region, according to Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, from the night of October 20 to October 24, this area is likely to experience rain due to the influence of cold air combined with high-altitude easterly wind disturbances.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa - Deputy Head of Climate Forecasting Division, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting - said that the cold air appearing at this time will almost certainly cause rain because of the conflict between hot and cold air masses. The rain will be relatively heavy and may be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Then, as the cold air moves deeper down, the weather quickly turns dry.
