At 7:00 a.m. this morning (December 2), AQI index at many monitoring points in Hanoi decreased compared to yesterday morning, but air quality was still at a bad and poor level.
According to the monitoring system of the Department of Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), at 6am this morning, at the measuring station at the gate of Hanoi University of Science and Technology on Giai Phong Street, the AQI was at 162 - normal people starting to have effects on their health, a group of sensitive people may have health problems.
By 7am, it had dropped to only 161. With this index, the air is classified as bad.

Nhan Chinh Park - Khuat Duy Tien measuring station, AQI at 6am was 116. By 7am, the AQI index dropped to 108.
According to the IQAir Air Air Pollution Index Application at 7:15 am this morning, Hanoi is the 10th most polluted city in the world with an AQI of 186 - a red threshold, unhealthy for health.

In particular, at Quang Khanh station (Western Lake area), there is a very high pollution index, AQI at 7:00 a.m. is 224 - purple threshold, very bad for health.
At the same time, at Thach That station, the air pollution index was also very high, AQI 241 - purple threshold.
According to Mr. Le Hoai Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, monitoring results show that in Hanoi and some provinces in the Red River Delta, fine dust pollution is a very complicated and high situation.
The main causes are emissions from industrial sectors, emissions from transportation, waste from the agricultural sector, the problem of burning household waste in localities and construction activities...
Experts recommend that when the air quality index reaches the hazardous level (AQI 301 500), people should minimize going out, temporarily stop outdoor activities and switch to indoor activities. Close your doors to avoid contact with pollution. For sensitive groups, the recommendation is even more strict: absolutely do not go out and ensure the indoor environment is airy and safe.
