According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has currently affected some mountainous areas in the north of our country.

The meteorological agency forecasts cold air conditions in the next 24 to 48 hours.

On the morning of October 1, the Northwest region, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10 - 30mm, locally over 60mm.

During the day and night of October 1, cold air will continue to affect other places in the North, then affect the North Central region and some places in the Central Central region. The wind will change to the northeast at level 3 inland, and level 4-5 in coastal areas.

During this cold air mass, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cool; nights and early mornings will be cold, especially in the mountainous areas of the North.

The Northern region has the lowest temperature of about 20 - 23 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas it is below 20 degrees Celsius.

From the afternoon of October 1 to October 2, the area from Southern Nghe An to Thua Thien Hue will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 30 - 70mm, locally over 150mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

Heavy rain and localized heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

On the night of October 1, the weather in Hanoi will turn cool with the lowest temperature commonly ranging from 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.

During the day and night of October 2, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa will have the lowest temperature of about 19 - 22 degrees Celsius; mountainous areas will have about 17 - 19 degrees Celsius, with some places below 20 degrees Celsius.

Nghe An - Ha Tinh has the lowest temperature of about 20 - 23 degrees Celsius.

From the night of October 2 to October 4, the lowest temperature in Hanoi is commonly 19 - 21 degrees Celsius.

According to the temperature chart from the meteorological agency, October 2 - October 4 is the period when cold air has the strongest impact.

At sea, from noon on October 1, the wind in the Gulf of Tonkin will change direction to northeast, gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7-8; rough sea; waves 2-3m high.

Strong winds and large waves at sea are likely to affect boating and other activities.
