On July 20, Quang Tri Provincial Police said that at around 7:00 p.m. on July 19, Bac Gianh Ward Police received a report that a 6-year-old boy had gone missing from family supervision.
As soon as the information was received, the ward police immediately deployed a search plan. Many officers and soldiers were mobilized to coordinate in reviewing the area, and at the same time extracting images from the public security camera system and people's houses.
Information about the baby was also widely shared on the unit's official social networking site to call for support from local people.
After more than two hours of urgent searching, at about 9:15 p.m. the same day, the authorities identified the child's location in a household in Tan Gianh commune - about 15km from where he got lost. The child was found in a stable condition, with no signs of damage to health or spirit.
Immediately afterwards, necessary procedures were carried out to hand over the child safely to the family.
