On the morning of November 12, the People's Committee of An Phu commune organized a special ceremony to commend and reward two individuals who had bravely saved drowning people.
The two people who were awarded were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vuong - Head of Tan Thach village, An Phu commune and Mr. Nguyen Xe - a person from the same village. Both of them were not afraid of danger and promptly plunged into the rushing water to save the victims.
The People's Committee of An Phu commune awarded certificates of merit and awards to recognize and commend the bravery and solidarity of the two outstanding individuals.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 5:30 a.m. on November 11, while fishing near Lo Gate (An Phu Commune), Mr. Pham Hung and Mrs. Do Thi Ha - fishing for nets - were unfortunately sunk by a large wave, threatening their lives.
Upon receiving the news, Mr. Vuong immediately jumped into the whirlwind to save people. However, due to the strong currents, he could not bring the victims to shore. At that time, Mr. Xet quickly used a buoy to swim out to support. With courage and determination, he and Mr. Vuong took the couple in distress to a safe place.
