On May 24, Hoa Trach Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) said that the locality had just organized a surprise commendation for collectives and individuals who bravely rescued people in a dangerous situation.
The individual commended is Mr. Ngo Thanh Hong (born 1977, residing in Dong Tinh village, Hoa Trach commune). Two collectives commended include Roon Border Guard Station (Roon Border Guard Station) and Canh Duong Health Station (Hoa Trach Commune Health Station).
Previously, at 5:15 pm on May 18, in the beach area opposite Yen Hai village, Hoa Trach commune, a drowning incident occurred with Pham Nhat Bao Khoi (born 2018), son of Mr. Pham Van Son and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, residing in Yen Hai village.
While swimming in the sea, baby Khoi was unfortunately swept away by the waves, leading to drowning. Discovering the incident, Mr. Hong promptly rescued and brought the baby ashore.
After that, Roon Border Guard Station, Canh Duong Health Station coordinated with the Commune Police, local authorities and people to perform first aid. Initially, Khoi's health was very weak; after being given first aid, his health temporarily stabilized and he was taken to the emergency room by his family.
Leaders of Hoa Trach Commune People's Committee acknowledged and praised the courageous and responsible spirit of individuals and collectives participating in rescuing people; and at the same time wished that beautiful actions would continue to be replicated in the community.
