Hamlet chief wholeheartedly helps ethnic people develop economy

Kien Giang - Mr. Danh Dai has been extremely dedicated and responsible in connecting the community and supporting ethnic minorities in economic development.

With natural advantages suitable for aquaculture, Mr. Danh Dai (Cai Nuoc Ngon hamlet, Dong Yen commune, An Bien district, Kien Giang province) has actively encouraged people to implement effective economic models, especially the shrimp - rice model.

In 2024, thanks to his guidance and organization, the main rice production area and shrimp farming reached 100% of the plan, with aquaculture productivity increasing by 102% compared to the previous year. As Party Cell Secretary - Hamlet Chief, he was also a pioneer in organizing meetings with villagers to establish a shrimp-rice cooperative, helping farmers have more opportunities to link production and consume products sustainably.

Not stopping at directing production, Mr. Danh Dai also mobilized contributions from benefactors to repair rural roads and bridges, creating favorable conditions for trade, helping people travel more conveniently.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Pha - Cai Nuoc Ngon hamlet - shared: "Thanks to Mr. Dai's positivity, the people have benefited. Along with the commune's advanced new rural construction program, many degraded roads in the hamlet have been reinforced and repaired by him and the people, so traveling is easier."

Mr. Dai strongly mobilized donors to build charity houses for poor households and gave Tet gifts to many disadvantaged families. Thanks to the efforts of mobilization and support from authorities at all levels, the poverty rate in the hamlet decreased to 0.37%, and the number of near-poor households was only 4.1%.

Ms. Le Thi Nguyen - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Yen Commune - said: "Mr. Danh Dai is a prestigious person among ethnic minorities. He actively pioneered movements such as building new rural areas, building bridges and roads, implementing social security, helping people in difficulty, especially Khmer households. Since then, people's lives have gradually changed, stabilized and improved."

Being a Khmer himself, Mr. Danh Dai always focuses on preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities. He regularly organizes propaganda sessions, mobilizing people to practice a cultural lifestyle, eliminate backward customs and superstitions, and participate in the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas". He also actively mobilizes people to participate in protecting the environment, maintaining public hygiene, thereby creating a green - clean - beautiful appearance for the hamlet.

Not only focusing on socio-economic development, Mr. Danh Dai also plays a key role in maintaining security and order in the locality. He directs the security and order team to effectively manage the area, preventing serious incidents from occurring. At the same time, he actively coordinates with forces to select and call citizens to join the army, successfully completing national defense tasks.
