    According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, at around 5:45 p.m. on October 15, a house on Tran Van Hoai Street, Xuan Khanh Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City caught fire on the top floor.

    Sharing with Lao Dong, Ms. N.Y (a resident living near the burnt house) said that at around 5:30 p.m., while she was doing business at home, people shouted that a house nearby was on fire, then she heard an explosion. About 15 minutes later, the fire department arrived at the scene.
    “Chay lon ma duong con bi ngap, toi so bi chap dien qua ben day nen ra xem dien nhu the nao, nhung may ma don vi dien luc da cup toan bo tuyen duong roi”, chi N.Y noi.
    “The fire was big and the road was flooded. I was afraid of an electrical short circuit that would affect neighboring houses, so I went out to check the power. Luckily, the power company had cut off the entire road, so I felt more secure,” said Ms. N.Y.

    The fire broke out when the entire road was flooded and power was cut off. Authorities helped direct traffic through the area. The fire was completely contained by 6:40 p.m. By 7:30 p.m., power was restored to the road.
