The first island in Nha Trang is proposed for community tourism

More than 8 nautical miles (15km) from Nha Trang city, Bich Dam island (belonging to Bich Dam residential group, Vinh Nguyen ward, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa) is blessed by nature with clear blue water all year round.

With an area of about 250 hectares, Bich Dam island has more than 200 households living mainly by fishing.

La hon dao xa nhat thanh pho Nha Trang, Bich Dam mang trong minh ve dep thanh binh cua lang bien dac trung. O day da duoc dau tu duong xa, truong hoc khang trang.

Being the farthest island from Nha Trang city, Bich Dam possesses the peaceful beauty of a typical coastal village. Here, roads and spacious schools have been invested.

For hundreds of years, Bich Dam people have lived here and depended on the sea, fishing.

Ngoai cay bang di san, o dao Bich Dam con co “mat bien” lau doi nhat Viet Nam - Hai dang Hon Lon. Duoc xay dung khoang nam 1890, Hai dang co do cao 102 m so voi muc nuoc bien, rieng thap den cao 16 m, co tam nhin xa 26 hai ly (khoang 47km).

In addition to the heritage banyan tree, Bich Dam Island also has the oldest “sea eye” in Vietnam – Hon Lon Lighthouse. Built around 1890, Hon Lon Lighthouse is 102 m above sea level, the light tower alone is 16 m high, with a visibility of 26 nautical miles (about 47 km).

One special thing is that there is no trash in Bich Dam fishing village. The awareness of preserving the environment and limiting plastic waste is highly respected by the people here. The islanders are also the guardians of the Hon Mun Marine Reserve, and no one engages in destructive fishing. These are also the factors that make Bich Dam have the necessary conditions to develop community tourism with cultural identity and awareness of the people in protecting the sea.
