Resettlement project N01 at land plot D17 Cau Giay New Urban Area with nearly 300 apartments has not been completed yet, leading to waste.
According to the Vietnam Association of Realtors (VARS), currently, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City alone, there are at least 18,000 resettlement apartments abandoned, with no one living there, costing hundreds of billions of VND in maintenance and upkeep each year.
VARS cited a report from the Hanoi People's Committee on the current status of 174 resettlement housing areas in use with a total of more than 14,200 apartments and about 4,000 apartment buildings still abandoned, causing great waste.
