In this case, defendant Truong My Lan was accused of illegally transporting more than 4.5 billion USD (about 106,730 billion VND) across the border in 10 years; laundering more than 445,000 billion VND and defrauding 35,824 victims through the issuance of fake bonds, appropriating more than 30,869 billion VND.

Defendant Truong Hue Van (niece of defendant Truong My Lan) was proposed to be sentenced to 6-7 years in prison for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" with the accusation of signing fake contracts and documents to help defendant Lan and her accomplices issue bonds, appropriating 13,000 billion VND from 20,623 victims.

Defendant Ngo Thanh Nha (General Director of Van Thinh Phat Investment Group, sister-in-law of defendant Lan), was proposed by the Procuracy to be sentenced to 7-8 years in prison for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

Regarding civil matters, the Procuracy requested the Trial Panel to order the defendant Truong My Lan to compensate for all damages, maintain the defendant's voluntary remedy of the consequences, confiscate related exhibits, and continue to seize Truong My Lan's real estate.
