A series of projects is required to expedite land clearance in Thanh Xuân.

Mr. Võ Đăng Dũng - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Xuân District stated that, in August 2024, the district will focus on implementing investment and construction work; accelerate the construction progress and disburse investment capital for projects.

In particular, the district will focus on implementing land clearance for key projects including: Road access to Cluster 3 of Thanh Xuân Nam Ward; Restoration and embellishment of the historical relic Gò Đống Thây; Construction of the new urban area Phùng Khoang; Renovation and expansion of Nguyễn Tuân Street according to the approved plan; Investment in the construction of Vành đai 2.5 Ring Road (from National Road 6 to Đầm Hồng).

According to Lao Động's report on August 11, Nguyễn Tuân Street currently has a bottleneck shape, causing frequent traffic congestion, especially during peak hours.

Meanwhile, the surrounding area has a high concentration of office buildings and residential apartments with a dense population. This is one of the reasons why the street often experiences heavy traffic. After completion, the project is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the area.

Regarding the Vành đai 2.5 Ring Road project from Nguyễn Trãi (National Road 6) to Đầm Hồng, the People's Committee of Thanh Xuân District stated that the unit has issued 681 land acquisition notifications to organizations and households and individuals involved in the project.

It is known that this is a Group A project, with a total investment of approximately 2,570 billion VND from the city's budget. The project will be implemented from 2022 to 2026. The project will pass through three wards: Thượng Đình, Khương Trung, and Khương Đình (Thanh Xuân District).

Regarding the project to restore and embellish the historical relic Gò Đống Thây (the relic is located deep in a narrow alley on Khuất Duy Tiến Street, Thanh Xuân Trung Ward). According to observations, there are many temporary tents and houses made of corrugated iron sheets around the relic site. Most of these structures do not have land use certificates.

In recent times, despite the People's Committee of Thanh Xuân District's efforts to organize dialogue and propaganda about the project, the residents living around the Gò Đống Thây area still hang banners and posters on all streets and entrances to the relic site to protest the project.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Thanh Xuân District, by July 31, the district had issued 145 compulsory enforcement decisions to implement the decision to recover land for the project to restore and embellish the historical relic Gò Đống Thây and the project to renovate and expand Nguyễn Tuân Street according to the approved plan.
