6 outstanding works at the 7th National Book Awards

The 7th National Book Awards honor outstanding authors and works in many fields.

In its seventh season in 2024, the National Book Awards honored 58 books in 59 categories.

Based on the voting results of the National Book Award Council, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution and the Vietnam Publishing Association have compiled and submitted to the Minister of Information and Communications for consideration to award prizes to 58 works.

Of which, there are 3 A Prizes; 10 B Prizes; 21 C Prizes; 21 Encouragement Prizes and 4 Readers' Favorite Book Prizes.

Each work nominated for the award is a typical work in various fields, going through a careful selection and evaluation process.

Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City: Miles of History (1698-2020)

The book series "Gia Dinh - Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City: Long Mile of History (1698-2020)" by researcher Nguyen Dinh Tu was highly appreciated by the jury and recommended for the A prize.

The work fully represents the stages of formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City, from its inception in 1698 to 2020, covering many fields and aspects.

The author portrays the portrait of this land from the early days when Vietnamese people set foot there to the period of French domination and its remarkable development during the renovation period.

The author not only arranges topics and themes systematically and scientifically, but also includes a lot of accurate and new information in the book.

Vo Van Kiet - Intelligence and Creativity (3 volumes)

The book series "Vo Van Kiet - Intelligence and Creativity" compiled by author Hoang Lai Giang in the form of stories about historical figures, depicts relatively fully and comprehensively the life and career of the late Prime Minister.

The 3 volumes of the book series are a tribute to the exemplary senior leader of the Party and State; he is no longer here, but his personality, qualities, courage and intelligence will forever be a shining example for generations of Vietnamese people today and tomorrow to learn and follow.
