Each article in the book contributes to providing an overall and comprehensive view of this historic victory, not only from a military perspective but also from the strategic leadership perspective of the Party and State.
The book not only reproduces the resounding victories of our army and people, but also deeply depicts historical campaigns such as Ho Chi Minh campaign, major battles in the Central Highlands, Quang Tri, Hue, Saigon ... and especially, clarifying the important role of the Party and the State in building strategies, making the right decisions to bring the resistance to the final victory.
The General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, completely liberated the South, ending a 21-year resistance war against the US to save the country.
On April 30, 1975, at exactly 11:30 a.m., our army entered Saigon and occupied the Liberation Army. General Duong Van Minh - representative of the Saigon government at that time - surrendered unconditionally.
