The book "Vietnam - A perspective from Japan" is the result of more than half a century of research and attachment to Vietnam by Prof. Dr. Furuta Motoo. The book's content not only presents historical, institutional, economic and social issues, but also vividly depicts the daily life in Vietnam through the academic lens combined with the author's personal experience.
From the daily activities of the people, cultural beliefs, social behavior, to macro issues such as the history of national construction and defense, reform - innovation, international integration and the geopolitical role of Vietnam in the region. The book was released on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), the 52nd Anniversary of the Establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, as a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World". This is not only a scientific work that has been meticulously researched, but also a vivid symbol of the sincere and strong friendship between the two countries.
