The Prime Minister affirmed that this victory is not only the pride of Vietnamese sports but also a source of inspiration for the entire nation, demonstrating the aspiration to rise and conquer new heights.
In the letter of commendation, the Prime Minister said that with his strong will, player Nguyen Xuan Son will overcome difficulties and come back stronger, together with the national team, affirm the position of Vietnamese football in the regional arena and aim for greater success in the future.
The greater success is the continental arena, not just stopping at the ASEAN region. This dream is not too far away and can be achieved if there is good investment and training of talented players.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's message is also the expectation of coach Park Hang-seo. On his personal page, after congratulating the Vietnamese team, Mr. Park Hang-seo said: "...it's time for Vietnamese football to go beyond its goal in Southeast Asia. Aim for a new milestone in the Asian arena. I believe you can do it."
Mr. Park Hang-seo did not have to say "diplomatic" words, but sincerely, because he understands Vietnamese football, he used to be a coach and led the Vietnamese team with many achievements: Second place in the 2018 U23 Asian Cup, champion of the 2018 AFF Cup, reaching the semi-finals of the 2019 Asian Games men's football, winning the gold medal in the men's football SEA Games two consecutive times 2019, 2021.
However, the Asian arena is a much higher level, far from the region. The Vietnamese team has experienced this playground and learned a lot of experience, and also enough to understand that it needs a great effort to be able to achieve a high ranking.
Vietnamese football must have confidence and optimism to move forward, but to achieve success in the big arena, it must invest heavily. That is to find talented people, from the coaching staff to world-class players, stars that shine on the field, creating a difference.
A typical example is Nguyen Xuan Son, this player contributed greatly to the ASEAN Cup championship of the Vietnamese team, winning the double award of Top Scorer and Best Player of the ASEAN Cup 2024.
