Lao Dong Newspaper has just published a series of articles on the illegal buying, selling and transfer of social housing at the Dai Thang residential area project (Pho Yen ward, Thai Nguyen province) invested by TNG Land Joint Stock Company.
According to Lao Dong reporters, some people own many apartments in this project, the apartments are under the names of relatives, then sell them for a profit of hundreds of millions of VND.
Of the nearly 400 apartments in the Dai Thang residential area social housing project, about 40% are owned by speculators.
Owning many apartments is definitely a rich person. This shows that there are problems in management, allowing speculators to get involved, buy at low prices, sell at high prices to make a profit.
Thus, this project is built and put into business like all other real estate projects, far from the goals of social housing.
In some other projects, there have been many cases of not being suitable for the right subjects or not being suitable when buying social housing. Therefore, there have been opinions that many people who buy social housing are renting whole cars, and then send opinions to the Provincial People's Council on why not arrange car parking in social housing areas.
Not that people in social housing cannot own cars, but those opinions are a warning, there has been a situation of buying social housing for business speculation.
Not to mention, some people have owned private houses but still look for ways to buy social housing to live in, while private houses are rented out for money. Because of greed, the rich take up the place of low-income people.
Returning to information on buying and selling social housing in Thai Nguyen, what people want is to clarify whether the cases of buying houses are in accordance with regulations or not.
If social housing is exploited for business by speculators, this program will lose great significance, which is to help low-income workers settle down.
Poor management leads to the situation of buying houses for the wrong subjects, which is creating conditions for speculators to take advantage of policies.
Currently, the supply of social housing is still limited, so allowing speculators to creep in will take away the opportunity to have housing for low-income people.
The State invests in implementing social housing programs, supporting low-income workers, but when speculators participate, pushing up housing prices, it will distort the market and affect social security policies.
The authorities are clarifying the case of social housing in Thai Nguyen "lost" addresses, handling violators to prevent speculation in many other projects.
