On July 13, at the Conference on the implementation of the two-level local government model, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared about the overload situation at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Prime Minister, this hospital is currently very crowded and crowded, with most of the patients coming from the Mekong Delta provinces. This not only causes costs for people but also causes many problems in the treatment process. Therefore, it is necessary to urgently build Can Tho City Oncology Hospital.
Regarding this hospital construction project, there have been many meetings to find solutions to resolve problems to soon complete and put into operation. However, up to now, everything is at a standstill, the hospital has stopped construction, the completed items have degraded, damaged, and are very wasteful.
At the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on February 7, mentioning the Can Tho Oncology Hospital project - signed an agreement on capital from ODA capital with the Hungarian Government and domestic counterpart funding, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the Ministry of Planning and Investment focus on resolving and putting it into use soon.
The National Assembly Chairman shared: "The hospital was built and then abandoned for several years. I went there several times and looked so impatient."
Local leaders are also very impatient, people are also very impatient, hoping that the project will be prioritized for capital allocation to completely handle.
On July 11, Chairman of Can Tho City Tran Van Lau led a working group to inspect the Oncology Hospital project, a project that has been exposed to the sun and rain for many years.
"Hearing the information about this project has been around for a long time and the current materials are already broken, even cement, bricks are broken, ... this is a huge waste, so it needs to be implemented soon to prevent waste. In addition to serving the people in a timely manner, we must also fight waste, said Mr. Tran Van Lau.
Everyone clearly sees that the project has been unfinished and wasteful for many years. Another even more urgent incident is that oncology patients in the Mekong Delta region do not have quality medical facilities to go to see a doctor or receive treatment in Ho Chi Minh City or at a hospital in Can Tho, with conditions of shortage and limited facilities.
After the merger, one thing that people expect is that Can Tho city will quickly complete the Oncology Hospital project, so that patients have the opportunity to access convenient, high-quality health care and medical examination and treatment services.
This responsibility belongs to Chairman of Can Tho Tran Van Lau, hoping that he will follow the Prime Minister's instructions and meet the aspirations of the people.
