On the afternoon of February 27, the Dien Bien Department of Health held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025) and launched emulation throughout the industry.
Mr. Pham Giang Nam - Director of Dien Bien Department of Health - said: "Continuing to inherit and promote the 70-year tradition of building and developing, Dien Bien Health Sector has increasingly developed comprehensively and modernly. It is expected that by the end of 2025, 100% of health stations will have infrastructure that meets the regulations of the Ministry of Health.
According to Mr. Nam, from the health system with a primitive apparatus, there are no doctors, there is a shortage of drugs, vaccines, facilities, and equipment. In recent years, the health system in Dien Bien province has been continuously invested, upgraded and improved to meet the requirements of care, protection and improving the health of all people at all levels. To date, the health network has developed widely, the whole industry has 22 units.
Of which, 4 provincial hospitals with 840 beds; 4 provincial specialized centers; 10 district health centers performing multi-functional tasks with 1,260 beds, 7 regional general clinics with 80 beds; 100% of communes/wards/tawns have health stations and doctors working there.
On this occasion, 6 individuals were honored to be awarded the title of Meritorious Doctor by the President; 1 collective, 18 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister; 6 collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health; 15 individuals were awarded the "For the People's Health" Medal by the Ministry of Health; 3 collectives and 5 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee.
The Dien Bien Health Sector is one of the health units established very early to prepare for the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Accordingly, on May 1, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, the Dien Bien Health Sector was established to take care of people's health during wartime, and at the same time disseminate disease prevention and hygiene to the people and soldiers.
During the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, medical staff and military medical forces took action on the battlefield to promptly treat and care for war invalids while doing ideological work for the army. By May 7, 1954, our army and people had built the Dien Bien Phu Victory "The borders of five continents, the shocks of the world".
