Rice fish
Anchovies are one of the foods with the highest purine content. 100 grams of raw anchovies contain up to 411 mg of purines, while canned anchovies contain about 321 mg.
According to nutritional data from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), canned anchovies also have a very high sodium content, providing up to 153% of the recommended daily requirement in just 100 grams. Although it is rare to eat a whole box in one serving, the high sodium content still makes anchovies a potential risky choice, especially for people who need to control their blood pressure. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns that consuming too much sodium can lead to high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems.
Sardines
Like many other seafood, sardines are rich in purines. A serving of about 100 grams of canned sardines contains 399 mg of purines, while fresh sardines contain about 321 mg.
However, sardines also have certain benefits. This is a rich source of omega-3, which helps fight inflammation.
Autumn fish
Mackerel, whether canned or fresh, is high in purines and should be avoided or limited if you have gout. 100 grams of canned mackerel contains about 246 mg of purines, while live mackerel contains about 194 mg.
