A study published in the journal Food Science and Nutrition found that kimchi provides a large amount of probiotics, which help improve digestion, reduce inflammation and control weight.

- Increase metabolism

Kimchi contains capsaicin, which can boost thermogenesis, increase metabolism, aid in burning calories, and reduce hunger by signaling fullness to the brain, says nutritionist Gauri Anand.

- Reduced appetite
