According to preliminary statistics, there are currently 63 people suspected of poisoning with symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea. Immediately after receiving the news, Rach Gia Ward People's Committee directed the Ward Culture and Social Department, the Poisoning Investigation Team to coordinate with Rach Gia Medical Center to conduct inspection, review and verify the investigation according to procedures.
Accordingly, from March 6, many agencies, departments, and branches ordered cakes from C.C. G bakery in Rach Gia ward to congratulate and give to partners and customers on International Women's Day 8.3. Immediately after that, many people had abdominal pain and diarrhea and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment at medical facilities; including K.D car salon, T.H tobacco company, V.Q health care club and V Bank ordering cakes to give to female customers.
To this day, there are still 5 people being treated at Kien Giang General Hospital. A female patient being treated at Kien Giang General Hospital said: on the occasion of March 8th, V Bank gave a birthday cake to women at the Company. After everyone ate the birthday cake, they all had stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
According to Mr. Ngo Quoc Khai, functional agencies are currently coordinating with the hospital to collect samples for testing to find out the specific cause of the poisoning. Specific results are awaiting hospital information.
