Dr. Tran Viet Nga - Director of the Ministry of Health said that there is currently a situation of forging documents of the Department of Health such as notices and decisions on the establishment of inspection, examination and supervision teams with the content of conducting inspections at food production and trading establishments in the area to cause panic and fear, thereby requiring the owners of the establishments to transfer money if they want to avoid being inspected for the purpose of fraud and property appropriation.
According to Dr. Nga, this is not the first time this type of fraud has occurred. Previously, there were many different forms of fraud such as selling books.
"Up to now, we have not received any reports from production and business establishments about being scammed. The unit will quickly issue warnings to provinces and cities," said Dr. Nga.
Previously, in less than a week, nearly 20 provincial and municipal health departments had to issue urgent notices when food safety inspections of food businesses were forged to make money.
