How to choose healthy drinks for the liver

Using drinks properly has an impact on liver health and function.

People with liver disease, especially those with cirrhosis, should limit or avoid drinking alcohol.

Coffee is considered beneficial for people with fatty liver disease. People who consume at least three cups of coffee a day have a lower risk of liver stiffness of about 50%. Giarditis is a manifestation of cirrhosis. Notably, other caffeinated drinks do not provide the same effect.

Coffee is considered good for the liver, but it is important to avoid too much sugar and artificial ice cream. This drink also contributes to increasing the presence of antioxidants such as glutathione, which has the effect of protecting the liver by neutralizing the growth of cancer cells.

Green tea contains abundant antioxidants, when entering the body, it will activate and support the liver's detoxification process, thereby contributing to reducing the risk of liver diseases such as cirrhosis, fatty liver or hepatitis.

However, it is important to use pure green tea in moderation, instead of using thick extract. Some small studies show that consuming high doses of green tea extract can cause more liver damage than benefits.

In addition, the consumption of sugary drinks is associated with an increased incidence of fatty liver disease and overweight. This is not a healthy drink for people with fatty liver disease.
