Ho Chi Minh City - On June 9, Cho Ray Hospital updated on the health status of a patient in the accident that occurred on June 7 on the highway, injuring 19 people.

Accordingly, a serious traffic accident between a passenger car and a tractor-trailer occurred in the early morning of June 7, 2026, in the Km30 slope area on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway (section through Tan Lap commune, Lam Dong province), injuring 19 passengers.

Among the victims being treated at the local hospital, there was male patient T.T. G. C (born 1996, Khanh Hoa province) suffering from very serious multiple injuries who was given first aid and urgently transferred to Cho Ray Hospital.

At Cho Ray Hospital, doctors conducted inter-hospital consultations with local hospitals. Determining that this was a complex multiple-traumatic case, many specialists participated in the consultation (Department of Orthopedics and Trauma, Emergency Resuscitation, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Urology Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Neurosurgery).

After assessing the IV degree splenic rupture injury, the patient was treated for emergency treatment by the team of doctors at Cho Ray Hospital on duty at night, now it has stabilized, the overall record also shows that the patient suffered from spinal cord fracture, spinal fracture, D12L1 vertebral dislocation, paralysis of both legs..., the patient was transferred to the Department of Neurosurgery for continued monitoring and treatment.

Dr. Tran Minh Tri - Deputy Head of Neurosurgery Department, Cho Ray Hospital - said that the patient's health is currently stable, showing signs of positive progress, alert, can have good contact, and talk normally. However, the patient still needs to be closely monitored.

By the morning of June 9, after examination and assessment of the results of in-depth paraclinical tests, surgery to adjust and fix the back of the patient is expected to be performed tomorrow, helping the patient to recover soon, in order to limit complications from prolonged lying down.
