Lam Dong - The Department of Health has sent a document to the Provincial Police about someone impersonating an officer of the unit to defraud a restaurant owner.

On October 1, the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health said that the unit had sent a document to report the impersonation of an officer of this unit to the Lam Dong Provincial Police for coordination and handling.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health, on September 27, the unit received information from a restaurant owner in Bao Loc city about a number of individuals claiming to be from the Lam Dong Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Branch.

This group of people asked the restaurant owner to provide information, records and documents related to the inspection and supervision of food production and trading establishments.

The subjects presented fake documents such as Decision No. 115/QD-SYT dated September 26, 2024 on the establishment of an inspection and supervision team for food production and trading establishments in Bao Loc city, signed by Mr. Trinh Van Quyet - Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Health.

After receiving the notice, Lam Dong Department of Health coordinated with relevant agencies to inform and respond to the business establishment about the incident.

On the other hand, the Department of Health requested the Health Departments of districts, Da Lat city, and Bao Loc city to notify businesses about the above-mentioned group of impersonators to detect them early and avoid being scammed.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuan Hoa, a restaurant owner in Bao Loc city, said that the person impersonating an official from the Department of Health asked her to provide documents related to business activities, food safety, and citizen identification. However, because she suspected this was a scam, she reported the incident to the authorities.
