On March 13, information from Soc Trang General Hospital said that the unit's doctors promptly saved the life of patient T.K.N (52 years old), residing in Tran De district, who had a complete blockage of the left coronary artery branch.
Previously, on March 9, patient T.K.N was admitted to Hoang Tuan General Hospital for emergency treatment with cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. Doctors here quickly performed emergency resuscitation for the heart and lungs, restoring the patient's heart and respiratory rhythm.
Realizing the serious condition, the emergency team of Hoang Tuan General Hospital consulted by phone with Soc Trang General Hospital and decided to transfer the patient to a cardiovascular emergency room.
At the General Emergency Department, Soc Trang General Hospital, patient N was admitted in critical condition, drowsy, mild pulse, low blood pressure to only 70/40 mmHg, and heart rhythm disturbance. Immediately, the General Emergency Department launched a hospital-wide alert, mobilizing the Intensive Care Unit and the Cardiovascular Department to intervene.
The emergency team held an emergency consultation, resuscitated the patient and transferred him to the cardiopulmonary department for coronary chupage.
The results showed that the patient had a complete blockage of the left coronary artery branch (LAD I). Under the direct guidance of Dr. Truong Tu Trach - Deputy Director of Soc Trang General Hospital, the cardiovascular intervention team placed a stent to re-open the left coronary artery, saving the patient's life.
After the intervention, patient N's condition improved significantly, breast pain was gone, breathing difficulty was reduced, heart rate was stable and he was able to withdraw the endotracheal tube of the ventilator. The patient was stable and discharged from the hospital on March 12.
