Increasing people's health care capacity
Recorded at Tu Du Hospital, Facility 2 (Can Gio commune, Ho Chi Minh City) since it was put into operation on November 10, many people have come to visit and get CT scans, including many pregnant women coming for consultation and fetal heart measurement. Pregnant N.L (Can Gio) shared: "Being examined for a pregnancy right in Can Gio helps me feel more secure, not having to travel far to the city center and also being examined by leading medical experts from end-of-line hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City". It can be seen that bringing high-quality health services closer to people in the suburbs creates convenience in taking care of maternal and child health and common diseases in the locality.
Tu Du Hospital, Facility 2, is formed according to the professional linkage model between Tu Du Hospital - the leading obstetrics and gynecology hospital in the city and the city's first-class general and specialized hospitals such as Le Van Thinh Hospital, City Children's Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital, Eardrology Hospital, City Dentistry Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital and Occupational Diseases, Traditional Medicine Hospital, Dermatology Hospital, in coordination with the 115 Emergency Center.
This hospital has a scale of 300 beds, using the existing infrastructure of the Can Gio District Medical Center (formerly). In addition to the medical team of Tu Du Hospital, the unit is also supplemented with rotating resources from major hospitals in the city, ensuring treatment quality equivalent to that of the upper level.
A representative of Le Van Thinh Hospital - one of the units launched to support - said that this activity not only has professional significance, but also demonstrates the spirit of community health, contributing to bringing modern services closer to people in coastal areas. Mobilizing resources and experience from the Ho Chi Minh City medical team creates a bridge between high-quality healthcare and the lives of people in the suburbs, while reducing the burden on the Central level.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, Can Gio is a coastal area that still has difficulty accessing quality healthcare services. In addition, the locality is on a roadmap to develop the marine economy, tourism and seaports.
When put into operation, Tu Du Hospital 2, it will help reduce referral problems, save time and travel costs for Can Gio and surrounding areas. At the same time, increase the capacity for emergency care - on-site treatment, especially for obstetrics and gynecology at high risk, newborns, accidents and injuries; strengthen the grassroots health network in a continuous and sustainable manner.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health emphasized that investing in a high-quality general hospital in Can Gio not only ensures social security but also creates a medical infrastructure platform to serve socio-economic development and attract residents and experts.

Strategic steps for people's health
In the Northern region, the two projects of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Facility 2 in Ninh Binh, which are about to come into operation, are expected to create a chain of medical linkages in the Northern region. With a favorable location, these facilities will help Ninh Binh people and neighboring areas access high-quality medical services right in the locality, reduce travel costs and reduce the burden on central hospitals.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Phuong Hanh, Director of the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Health, after the merger of administrative boundaries, the province's population has increased, and the demand for high-quality health care is increasingly high. The provincial health sector has advised on the development of mechanisms and policies to support the development of modern health centers and attract investment in international standard hospitals, creating a "leverage" to improve service quality.
In the coming time, when the two major hospital facilities operate stably, along with policies on public housing, insurance and synchronous infrastructure, Ninh Binh will become an attractive destination for investors in the health sector. The presence of central hospitals in the area also helps increase human resource training, transfer techniques, share advanced management models and promote the socialization of healthcare.
Along with that, the province is oriented to link high-quality healthcare development with tourism potential, aiming to form a model of healthcare health tourism - resorts, in line with local advantages. In addition to the two major projects, Ninh Binh also has many non-public medical facilities operating effectively such as Hanoi - Dong Van General Hospital, international clinics and the Sun Hospital high-quality General Hospital project (started in June 2025).
With potential and favorable location, Ninh Binh strives to become a high-quality medical center of the region, meeting the needs of people's health care and integrating national and international health care, Ms. Hanh emphasized.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan said that the two hospitals have developed a human resource plan, rotated experts and experienced doctors and recruited a new team; at the same time, coordinated with the Project Management Board and contractors to speed up the progress of purchasing, installing equipment, completing the information technology system and operation plan. The goal is to complete the basic construction before November 30, 2025, ensuring that the two hospitals meet high technical standards and have a unified health insurance payment plan.
The Minister emphasized the principle of "correct spending, efficiency, economy", completing documents on specific mechanisms, in-depth technical classification and unifying operating plans, ensuring quality, progress, and compliance with legal regulations.
According to the plan, on November 17, the National Assembly will discuss the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on mechanisms and policies to effectively implement Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW dated September 9, 2025 of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions, enhancing protection, care and improving people's health. Resolution 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo clearly states taking people as the center, ensuring fairness in health care, focusing on vulnerable groups and promoting a culture of disease prevention and healthy living. Strongly shift from treatment to disease prevention, care and comprehensive health improvement over the life cycle. Prioritize investment in human resources and facilities for commune health stations and improve service quality, develop specialized healthcare, and ensure health security.
