Nutritionist Dr. Helen Moore, Asia Pacific Institute of Health Sciences, Australia, commented: Lemon water does not provide enough protein, fat or carbohydrates. When you start your day like that, your body is forced to use energy reserves, leading to burnout and dysglycemia."
The body increases acid secretion, dizziness and decreases concentration
When you drink lemon water on an empty stomach, citric acid stimulates increased stomach contractions, increasing the risk of thuong congestion, reflux and heartburn. People with underlying digestive diseases are more susceptible to irritation.
The body lacks energy in the morning, causing blood sugar to drop, leading to dizziness, throbbing, and headaches. This condition directly affects work efficiency, child care and makes the family atmosphere more stressful.
Not eating breakfast is a leading cause of slow brain function, says Dr. Moore. The energy provided from lemon water is too little to maintain alertness for many hours".
In addition, the strong acidity of lemon water can soften tooth enamel without food, long-term leading to to cavities and increased risk of tooth decay.
Metabolic disorders and easy to gain weight back
Many people believe that skipping breakfast will help them lose weight quickly. But in fact, the body reacts by slowing down metabolism to save energy. When you have lunch, increased hunger makes you more likely to eat more, gain excess calories and lead to reverse weight gain.
