On June 5, 2025, the People's Committee of Can Tho City issued Document No. 2537/UBND-XDDT on the scope of the project to expand Can Tho Central General Hospital and Can Tho City Hematology - Blood Transfusion Hospital, sent to relevant departments, branches, units and localities.
Considering Report No. 1273/BC-SXD dated May 9, 2025 of the Department of Construction on the results of reviewing and determining the boundary for expanding the two hospitals, and the conclusion at the City People's Committee meeting on May 29, 2025 (Notes No. 66/TB-UBND dated June 4, 2025).
Accordingly, the city agreed to expand the two hospitals with a total area of about 5.7 hectares. Both hospitals are located in An Khanh ward, Ninh Kieu district - the central area and is home to many large hospitals in Can Tho city.
Of which, the Can Tho Central General Hospital expansion project has an area of about 3.8 hectares. The expanded land adjacent to the East of the existing hospital.
The project to expand Can Tho City Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital has a total area of about 1.9 hectares, divided into two phases: phase 1 is 1.2 hectares and phase 2 is 0.7 hectares. The expanded land is located in the East adjacent to the existing hospital.
The People's Committee of Can Tho City assigns the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Health, the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu District and the relevant units to guide and support the two hospitals to implement the next steps, ensuring the right order and procedures as prescribed by law.
