Patient N.D.T, 36 years old, was admitted to the Emergency Department at 23:51 after a serious traffic accident. Although there was no previous medical history, the patient suffered a severe head injury and was transferred from Bac Thang Long Hospital to Saint Paul Hospital .
Immediately after admission, doctors quickly conducted examination and diagnosis. The patient was hospitalized in a deep coma, with many signs of serious injury such as swollen jaw and face, hematoma in the abdomen and pelvis. The patient was diagnosed with severe multiple injuries that were not clearly identified (Diagnosis code T07). The hospital quickly deployed necessary tests including:
CT scan of the brain and cervical spine without contrast injection: The results showed that the patient had severe damage to the skull and cervical spine.
The patient's serious condition led the doctors to decide to immediately move him to the Operating Room - Department of Anesthesia and Resuscitation to perform the necessary interventions at 1:30 on August 23. However, despite all efforts, the patient's condition continued to deteriorate, leading to transfer to the Outpatient Recovery Room at 02:58 for continued monitoring.
At 3:15 on August 23, the medical team conducted a clinical assessment and suspected that the patient was brain dead. After three thorough and detailed examinations by leading experts, the final results confirmed that patient N.D.T could not survive.
Faced with the pain of great loss, the patient's family made a brave and humane decision: to donate their loved one's organs to bring life to others. This is an act of great love and sacrifice, bringing new hope to patients who are waiting for the opportunity to receive an organ transplant.

This special organ donation is not only a testament to the spirit of humanity and dedication to the community but is also a meaningful event at Saint Paul Hospital .
The patient's organs were dispatched to many medical facilities across the country to treat many patients: the liver went to Viet Duc Hospital, the patient's heart went to HCM Medical and Pharmaceutical Hospital, the cornea went to Central Military Hospital 108, Saint Paul Hospital will transplant kidneys to 2 patients...
Thanks to the brave decision of patient N.D.T's family to donate organs , many other lives have had the opportunity to be saved and reborn. Saint Paul General Hospital would like to sincerely thank the patient's family and wish to share this story to spread the message of love and sharing in the community.
