On December 2, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health informed that after 3 weeks of trial operation and completion of infrastructure, Tu Du Hospital, Facility 2 in Can Gio, has recorded clear initial results. The number of medical examinations and treatments increased by 2-3 times compared to before, while the number of emergency referrals decreased significantly.
In particular, the first emergency endoscopic surgery on November 21, the daily birth on December 1 and the cesarean section of a 3.2 kg boy were both performed safely at Tu Du Hospital, facility 2. This marks a new step forward in on-site treatment for Can Gio people.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health stated that for many years, Can Gio people have had to travel a long distance to the center to access specialized medical services. In emergency situations, this journey not only takes time and money but also carries potential risks.
Tu Du Hospital, Facility 2, helps people to be examined, treated, given first aid, operated and given birth right in the locality, by a team of doctors from leading hospitals in the city. This is a completely new model of a general hospital, based on the close connection of 9 public specialized and general hospitals.
Tu Du Hospital plays the main coordinating role, in charge of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, and at the same time, cooperates with Le Van Thinh Hospital, Children's Hospital, Eye, Ears, Mouth, Dentistry, Dermatology, Rehabilitation - Occupational diseases and Traditional Medicine.

The establishment of Tu Du Hospital, Facility 2, not only meets the immediate needs of medical examination and treatment, but also opens up a new direction in organizing the health network of Ho Chi Minh City, including developing according to a multipolar model, linking multi-specialty - multi-hospital, making the most of available potential to serve people more fairly and effectively.
This is a creative, humane solution and creates an important precedent for ensuring comprehensive health care in areas far from the center.
