On March 7, Vung Tau General Hospital (Phuoc Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that it had received and treated 18 cases hospitalized due to gas poisoning.
According to reported information, these cases inhaled chlorine gas at a service provider in the area. After that, they were quickly taken to the Emergency Department of Vung Tau General Hospital for treatment.
Immediately after receiving them, the hospital urgently organized examinations, classified the patient's condition and implemented treatment and treatment measures according to professional procedures. Patients were closely monitored for clinical signs, especially respiratory condition, and were actively cared for and treated.
At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has directed Vung Tau General Hospital to continue to closely monitor the health developments of patients, promptly organize professional consultations with upper-level hospitals when necessary, to ensure the highest efficiency of treatment.
By about 5 pm on March 6, 5 cases with stable health had been discharged from the hospital. Other cases have also stabilized and are gradually recovering.
Phuoc Thang Ward Police said that they are coordinating with relevant units to conduct a review in the area where the incident occurred to clarify the cause and resolve the case according to regulations. Initially, the possible cause of the poisoning was a leak of chlorine gas used to clean water in the swimming pool in this service facility.
