    Castor oil has antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that help fight fungi and bacteria. Castor oil helps restore the function of cells inside the ear and helps to overcome ear problems like cochlear abscess, says clinical endocrinologist Dr. Samudrika Patil at Vedicure Healthcare and Wellness.

    However, people with ear problems should consult a doctor before putting oil in their ears, Dr. Bhingarde adds.
