On June 9, Dr. Nguyen Trung Dung - Head of Surgery Department, Le Thuy Regional General Hospital (Quang Tri province) said that the unit had just received and treated patient H.V.N (57 years old, residing in Le Thuy commune) who was hospitalized in a state of severe pain in the right thigh for a long time.
Through clinical examination and X-ray, doctors discovered a metal foreign object, a clothes sewing needle, located close to the patient's femur.
According to the patient, about 2 years ago, he went to a private facility for acupuncture to treat pain in his right leg. After the treatment, the thigh area appeared with prolonged and increasingly severe pain.
After consultation, the surgical team performed surgery to remove the foreign object. Thanks to the support of the C-Arm machine system, doctors accurately determined the location of the needle during surgery, minimizing damage to surrounding muscle tissues.
The surgery went smoothly, the needle about 4cm long was successfully removed. Currently, the patient's health has stabilized, the pain has subsided and he can walk normally.
