The Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) has sent a document to the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) on strengthening the management of functional food trading activities on e-commerce platforms.
Accordingly, through post-inspection of registration, self-declaration and production - trading of functional foods, the Food Safety Department discovered that the product "12kg MINAMI weight loss to reduce belly fat" is being advertised and sold on the Shopee platform with signs of violating legal regulations.
Specifically, through reviewing the database for granting the Certificate of Receipt of Registration of the Product Declaration, the Food Safety Department confirmed that it did not grant the Certificate of Receipt of Registration of the Declaration No. 5438/2024/DKSP dated July 12, 2024 for the above product of HKK Trading Company Limited, located at the 7th floor, No. 69 Nguyen Hy Quang Street, Hanoi.
The product was discovered to be advertised and sold at the e-commerce platform address. The Food Safety Department requires strict handling of violations on e-commerce platforms.
Faced with the above situation, the Food Safety Department requested the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy to notify the Shopee platform and related booths, request to stop trading, remove all advertising information, images of the product "Loss of 12kg MINAMI to reduce belly fat" in violation of the law and handle it according to the provisions of law.
Review the entire list of functional food products on the platform to detect and remove products that have not been licensed for circulation.
Only allow the sale of products that have been granted a Certificate of Receipt of Product Declaration Registration by a competent authority or posted on the food safety data information system.
Report the implementation results in writing to the Department of Food Safety before November 17, 2025.
On November 12, the Department of Food Safety issued Official Letter No. 2294/ATTP-SP to National Steering Committee 389 on the management of functional food trading activities on e-commerce.
To ensure market management and prevent trading in violating products, the Food Safety Department requested the National Steering Committee 389 to review and handle the case according to its authority.
The Food Safety Department recommends that consumers do not buy or use the product "Light loss 12kg MINAMI to reduce belly fat" and proactively notify the nearest authorities if the product is detected violating food safety regulations.
The Department emphasizes that people should only choose weight loss products that have been legally announced, have clear registration numbers, transparent origins, and are updated on the national food safety management data system.
