HCMC - Information appeared on social networks calling for support for pediatric patients being treated at Children's Hospital 2. However, the hospital did not receive and treat this patient.

On the evening of March 13, Children's Hospital 2 issued a fake warning to call for charity. pages and groups on Facebook appeared information calling for support for a pediatric patient being treated at Children's Hospital 2.

The content was shared by a user named Huynh Huu Hieu, his son, Huynh Huu Duc (born in 2024, Dien Phu commune, Pleiku city, Gia Lai province) being treated for pneumonia, respiratory failure, and sepsis at Children's Hospital 2. Currently, the child has died, the family is facing difficulties and is asking for support to go to the bank account number.

After checking the information, Children's Hospital 2 said that the unit did not receive and treat the patient as shared in the article. Information and photos with the article have been of interest and spread on social networking sites.

Children's Hospital 2 recommends that people continue to be vigilant against information calling for charity related to the hospital. It is necessary to carefully research information before making a donation, to avoid being taken advantage of by bad people for profit.

The hospital has a Social Work room. This is an address to verify information that children need help, a bridge in connecting philanthropists with children in truly difficult circumstances.

Previously, in February 2025, social networks also spread a video of a woman hugging her child and crying in front of the gate of the Examination Department, Children's Hospital 2, and a community petition. However, this information is not true.
